Hi, welcome to my blog. I've been writing for a couple of decades now. The subjects I've covered are mainly outdoor, survival, gardening and growing your own food and, of course, projects to help create your own self-sufficient homestead. Some of my past articles are still up online. You can find them by doing a google search for Corcceigh Green. I'll be posting similar material here.
You can probably guess from the subject matter that I am mainly interested in freedom, self-sufficiency and a myriad of survival skills. What I wish to do at this time in my life is put those skills to use building a homesteading, survival and self-sufficiency business. I have already built my homestead that will be both where I will make my living and where I will ride out any hard times in American history. Like most things in life, building a homestead is an ongoing process. It helps to know where you'd like to ride out TEOTWAKI (The End Of The World As We Know It). The climate, terrain, cost of living, lifestyle and population density all are factors in whether a region is suitable for your homestead or not.
I've found the region for me which I will get into later. Other processes are also ongoing. Like the process of becoming more self-sufficient. It is very difficult in this modern world to become self-sufficient overnight. The time and work alone is sufficient to last a great duration. There is also the risk of becoming complacent. For instance, as I began to accomplish more and the homestead began to become more productive in providing what was needed, I put off eliminating or cutting back on items that needed to be manufactured outside the homestead. As a result I am still on the grid and could not be considered completely self-sufficient. I aim to correct that and will post my progress here. There are many projects to consider which the reader will learn about.
There are many projects which will provide your homestead, whether in the city or country, with the ability to grow most of the necessities of life. I have found that it is also necessary to set some of your homestead’s resources aside to generate some extra income. For the time being, you can see some of the projects I am utilizing to generate a little extra to pay the taxes and bills at http://northwoodstraders.ecrater.com I will be getting into more specifics in later blogs. Bookmark this page and keep checking in. Leave feedback. Ask questions and leave comments. A lot of people just like us will want to know what others are doing to achieve and maintain a self-sufficient, working homestead.
